From September 16-19, 2025, a research team from Semarang State University, led by Prof. Dr. Zaenuri, M.Sc., Akt. (Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs), along with Arif Widiyatmoko, Ph.D. in Ed. (FMIPA UNNES) and Farid Ahmadi, Ph.D. (FIPP UNNES), conducted an academic visit to Central China Normal University (CCNU), China. CCNU was represented by Professor Wang Weijun (Deputy Executive Director of the Main Experimental Lab for Psychology and Online Behavior of Adolescents and Education), Professor Hong Jianzhong, and relevant CCNU lecturers and students.
The visit aimed to explore opportunities for international collaboration, particularly in the field of “AI + Psychology and Education.” The event began with remarks from the host, who outlined the scientific strengths, research achievements, and flagship programs of the faculty and laboratory. Next, Prof. Zaenuri introduced the history, programs, and development direction of UNNES, while also expressing a desire to strengthen cross-university collaboration.

In-depth discussions highlighted key issues related to faculty and student exchanges, joint research on the application of artificial intelligence in education, ethical studies on the use of AI technology in academic settings, and strategies for utilizing AI tools to support diverse learning needs. Furthermore, three main areas of focus were agreed upon as the direction of cooperation: the development of an AI literacy system for prospective teachers, the integration of information and communication technology (ICT) with science learning, and the implementation of an AI-based learning analytics system.
As part of the activities, the delegation also had the opportunity to visit the psychology laboratory, brain imaging center, and key research facilities at the partner faculty. This provided a comprehensive overview of the potential for collaboration and the utilization of shared resources.

As a result of the meeting, both parties reached a preliminary agreement to establish a platform for sharing academic resources, prioritize online joint research, and develop distance learning exchanges. Thus, this visit marks the first step toward establishing a long-term research partnership that is expected to drive innovation in AI, psychology, and education.
