On 8 September 2025, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Universitas Negeri Semarang, through its Quality Assurance Unit (GPM), conducted an external benchmarking visit to the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha). This activity forms part of the faculty’s efforts to strengthen its quality assurance system and enhance institutional performance. The benchmarking visit is strategically important because each institution possesses unique strengths in practical quality assurance. Institutions with a more streamlined organizational structure, such as Undiksha, often implement more agile, integrated, and easily replicable quality assurance mechanisms, making them valuable learning sources for larger institutions.
The delegation from FMIPA UNNES was led by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Zaenal Abidin, S.Si., M.Cs., Ph.D., accompanied by the Head of GPM FMIPA, Prof. Dr. Aditya Marianti, M.Si., along with GPM team members: Dr. Siti Wahyuni, M.Sc., Dr. Nuni Widiarti, S.Pd., M.Si., Dr. Sri Sukaesih, S.Pd., M.Pd., M. Faris Al Hakim, S.Pd., M.Cs., Virgania Sari, S.Pd., M.Si., and Trida Ridho Fariz, S.Si., M.Sc. The delegation was warmly welcomed by FMIPA Undiksha leadership under the coordination of the faculty’s Quality Control Unit (GKM).
The visit began with a presentation on FMIPA Undiksha’s quality assurance system, which operates under the university’s Quality Assurance Institute. Undiksha explained that their internal quality audit is carried out in a structured and adaptive manner, serving as a reflective instrument to monitor the performance of the higher-education tri dharma. This simpler yet consistent approach is one of the key reasons why benchmarking at Undiksha offers a fresh and meaningful perspective for UNNES.

In the main session, the GPM FMIPA UNNES team presented their joint research initiative entitled Development of a Partner Satisfaction System for University Collaboration to Support Faculty Performance Targets. This theme was framed within the context of benchmarking, enabling both institutions to compare EIECI processes, quality assurance mechanisms, performance evaluation management, and the use of partner satisfaction surveys as instruments for improving the quality of external collaboration. The discussion was interactive, exploring effective SPMI implementation strategies, EIECI integration within the quality cycle, and opportunities for collaborative research and community service. The visit also aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 on quality education, SDG 16 on strong institutions, and SDG 17 on partnerships for the goals.
