Semarang, 04/14/2025 – The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Semarang State University (UNNES) held a benchmarking and guest lecture activity by presenting international speakers, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kulthida Nugultham, Head of Science Education in Ph.D. Program from the Faculty of Education and Development Sciences, Kasetsart University, Thailand. This event was also attended by the Dean of FMIPA UNNES, Prof. Dr. Edy Cahyono, M.Sc., Vice Deans, and a number of lecturers and students.
This activity aims to broaden horizons and improve the quality of science education at FMIPA UNNES through knowledge exchange with leading science education experts from Thailand. Dr. Kulthida Nugultham shared her experiences in curriculum development, innovative learning methods, and research in the field of science education.
In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Edy Cahyono, M.Sc., Dean of FMIPA UNNES, conveyed the importance of international collaboration to strengthen the academic reputation of FMIPA UNNES. “This activity is a strategic step to expand the academic network and improve the quality of education and research at FMIPA UNNES. We hope that the collaboration with Kasetsart University can produce innovation in science learning and collaborative research,” he said. He also gave direction to all lecturers and students to make the most of this opportunity. “I encourage lecturers and students, especially in the doctoral program, to actively collaborate on international research and publications. FMIPA UNNES must continue to move forward towards becoming a world-class university,” he added.
The benchmarking activity also discussed the potential for academic collaboration, student exchanges, and joint research between the two institutions. The event ended with an interactive discussion between participants and speakers, marking FMIPA UNNES’ commitment to continue improving the quality of education and research at the international level.
