The Biology Cluster of FMIPA, Semarang State University held the 12th National Biology Seminar on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
The National Seminar was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Prof. Dr. Edy Cahyono, M.Si. Also present were the leaders of FMIPA, including Vice Dean 1, Vice Dean 3, Head of Biology Education Study Program (Dr. Sigit Saptono, M.Pd.), Head of Biology Study Program (Dr. Dewi Mustikaningtyas, S.Si., M.Si., Med.)
The 12th National Biology Seminar took the theme “The Role of Technology in the Development of Biology Research Results and Biology Education in the Digital Era”.
The Chairperson of the Committee for the 12th National Biology Seminar, Dr. Sri Sukaesih, M.Pd. said that the theme of this seminar was chosen in line with the increasingly rapid development of technology in various fields of life, so a forum for sharing regarding the role of technology in the development of research in various fields is needed. Through this national seminar, it is hoped that: (1) it will be able to open a wider horizon about the role and positive contribution of technology in the development of research results in Biology and Biology Education, as well as other research fields, (2) provide an opportunity for researchers, teachers, lecturers and students, to exchange information and disseminate the results of research that has been carried out.
The main speakers in this national seminar are:

- Prof. Dr. Niken Subekti, M.Sc. – from Biology FMIPA UNNES
- Arif Darmadiansah, S.Pd., Gr. – from SMAN Probur Alor, East Nusa Tenggara / National Outstanding Teacher
The 2024 National Biology Seminar XII was held in a Hybrid format, attended by 61 presenters, and 210 non-presenters from Universities, Research Agencies, Institutions, secondary schools (SMP/SMA), and Seameo Biotrop.
Presenter and non-presenter participants come from all over Indonesia consisting of 10 provinces, namely Aceh, Riau, Special Region of Yogyakarta, West Java, Central Java, DKI Jakarta, Banten, Maluku, East Nusa Tenggara and Papua. The backgrounds of the participants include: researchers, academics, educators, teachers, and students. After the main session, the parallel session session was continued which was divided into several fields, namely: Biology Learning Field, Biotechnology and Microbiology Field, Zoology and Health Field, Botany and Environment Field.
