The Physics Study Program, FMIPA, Semarang State University has held a Guest Lecture activity with the theme “Best Practice of Research and Writing of Reputable International Scientific Articles in the Field of Physics” on Thursday, September 26, 2024. This activity took place from 09.00 – 11.00 WIB in Meeting Room D7, 3rd Floor, FMIPA UNNES, and was attended by lecturers and students in the Physics group, FMIPA UNNES.
This event presented speakers in the field of material physics, namely Mohamad Insan Nugraha, Ph.D., a researcher from the Center for Nanotechnology Systems Research (PRSN), the Nanotechnology and Materials Research Organization (ORNM), the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and Post-Doctoral at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). He is an expert in nanotechnology and material physics, with experience in research and publication in reputable international journals.
In this activity, he shared his experiences and in-depth insights regarding the best strategies in scientific research in physics as well as tips for writing scientific articles so that they can be published in reputable international journals. This activity is expected to provide inspiration and practical knowledge for lecturers and students who want to improve the quality of their research and scientific publications. In the discussion session, lecturers and students asked a lot about tips so that the writings from the research results that are widely produced at FMIPA UNNES can penetrate reputable journals, especially in some cases the data produced is sometimes less than satisfactory. Dr. Insan said that the quality of writing to be accepted in reputable international journals does not only have to produce good data, but it could be that the method is simpler but can produce results that are not inferior to those using more complex methods.
The Coordinator of the Physics Study Program, Prof. Dr. Masturi in his speech expressed his extraordinary appreciation for the presence of this speaker from BRIN. The study program hopes that the quantity and quality of research and articles of the Physics community of FMIPA UNNES can improve and increase.
