The Community Service Team of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Semarang State University (UNNES) collaborated with the Biology MGMP of Semarang Regency and SMAN 1 Ungaran to hold an In-House Training (IHT) with the theme “Learning and Assessment in the New Paradigm Learning of the Independent Curriculum to Improve Teacher Professional Competence.” This activity was attended by 82 participants, including all teachers at SMAN 1 Ungaran and biology teachers from the local MGMP, as well as the Supervisor of SMA Branch Office Area 1 Central Java, Imron Rosyadi.

The Principal of SMAN 1 Ungaran, Dr. Kaswanto, explained that this IHT aims to strengthen teacher competence and professionalism in a sustainable manner. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the implementation of learning and assessment in accordance with the Independent Curriculum. In this training, the UNNES team who became resource persons consisted of several lecturers, namely Prof. Dr. Saiful Ridlo, Prof. Dr. Sri Ngabekti, Dr. Y Ulung Anggraito MSi, Dr. Sri Sukaesih MPd, and Lutfia Nur Hadiyanti MPd. This activity also involved 3 students from the Biology Education Study Program, Fiqih Ramadhan Pratama, Angela Dita Rizki, and Aulia Hafidzatunnisa.

Improving teacher professionalism is very important in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s), especially SDG 4 which focuses on quality education. By training teachers continuously, they can develop the skills and knowledge needed to create an effective and inclusive learning environment. This approach not only improves the quality of teaching, but also prepares students to face global challenges.
