Semarang, September 3, 2024 – The Physics Cluster of Semarang State University (UNNES) has just held an important meeting with representatives from Universiti Malaya and Universiti Malaysia Perlis. The discussion, which was guided by the Coordinator of the Undergraduate Physics Study Program, Prof. Dr. Masturi, M.Sc., involved Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Shuhaimi Bin Abu Bakar from the Department of Physics, Universiti Malaya, and Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd Khairuddin Md Arshad from the Institute of Nano Electronic Engineering, Universiti Malaysia Perlis. This meeting aims to deepen the research collaboration that has been initiated and explore new opportunities in joint research.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Shuhaimi Bin Abu Bakar highlighted the progress of the existing research collaboration and expressed his hope that this collaboration can continue more intensively. He also emphasized the importance of developing joint research equipment capabilities to support more sophisticated and effective research. The discussion aims to ensure that the facilities and technologies used in research can meet international standards.
On the other hand, Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd Khairuddin Md Arshad suggested that the focus of joint research cover various fields of physics, including material physics and nano electronics. He emphasized the importance of collaboration in the development of technology and material research to achieve more significant results, which include a dual degree program between the UNNES Physics Study Program and the University of Malaysia Perlis Physics Study Program, and joint supervision of students who are working on their final assignments. With this joint supervision and collaboration, it is hoped that a strong synergy will be created between the two universities, which will ultimately make a major contribution to the advancement of science and technology.
