COOPERATION ON BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION AND CLIMATE VILLAGE PROGRAM BETWEEN THE FACULTY OF MATHEMATICS AND NATURAL SCIENCES OF SEMARANG STATE UNIVERSITY AND THE ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICE OF TEGAL REGENCY 2024

Biodiversity is something that must be considered by all parties considering its function in maintaining the survival of living things and environmental sustainability. Provision of empowerment locations to maintain biodiversity is an inseparable component. The Tegal Regency Government is aware of the existence of 20 ecosystem services supporting biodiversity that tend to decline. Therefore, starting from a study supporting environmental carrying capacity, the Tegal Regency Government through the DLH seeks to increase environmental carrying capacity and carrying capacity by planning the development of a Biodiversity Park (Taman Kehati).
In order to support Taman Kehati, the Tegal Regency DLH then initiated cooperation with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Semarang State University. The initiation of this collaboration began with an initial discussion held at Building D12 of the FMIPA UNNES Deanery on Thursday, August 15, 2024. Furthermore, a more in-depth discussion was held at the Tegal Regency Regional Secretary’s Office on Thursday, August 22, 2024. Representatives from UNNES were the Vice Dean 3 for Business, Research, and Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Sutikno, M.T. along with the collaboration group and research team consisting of Prof. Dr. Enni Suwarsi Rahayu, M.Sc., Prof. Dr. Margareta Rahayuningsih, M.Sc., Prof. Dr. Noor Aini Habibah, S.Sc., M.Sc., and Dr. Andin Irsadi, S.Pd., M.Sc. The representative from the Tegal Regency DLH was the Secretary, Mr. Edy Sucipto, SKM, M.Sc. and Head of Environmental Management, Mr. Taroyo S.T., M.T.. In addition, several agencies related to Kehati Park were also present, including the Head of Tourism Division of the Youth, Sports and Tourism Agency, Mr. Joko Sunarto S.STP.

The discussion determined several agreements related to cooperation in the conservation of Tegal Regency’s biodiversity and the tridharma of higher education with the implementation divided into main, supporting and tridharma fields written in the form of a cooperation agreement. The main implementation includes research in the field of biodiversity and the Climate Village Program; protection of biodiversity and the Climate Village Program; development of biodiversity and the Climate Village Program; application of Science and Technology (IPTEK) in the field of biodiversity and the Climate Village Program; operation of IPTEK in the field of biodiversity and the Climate Village Program; and evaluation of policies in the field of biodiversity and the Climate Village Program. Meanwhile, supporting implementation includes increasing institutional capacity; strengthening governance; increasing human resource capacity; improving the quality of program planning and evaluation; facilitating regional innovation in the field of biodiversity and the Climate Village Program; and fulfilling organizational resources in the field of biodiversity and the Climate Village Program.
