China is one of the Asian countries that is famous for its coffee and tea culture, meaning that every society is accustomed to drinking tea or coffee with various purposes and philosophies. Based on the reference results, many local Chinese tea or coffee products are found to be of world-class quality, namely local tea products from Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou Province, China. Coinciding with the 2024 China ASEAN Education Cooperation Week, August 22-25, 2024, the researcher from FMIPA UNNES, namely Prof. Dr. Sudarmin, M.Si conducted observations and interviews with resource persons guarding the stand and lecturers from China regarding the pros and cons of tea and coffee in the context of Ethno-SSI. The results of observations and questions and answers from resource persons showed that the coffee culture is more preferred by the Chinese people than tea. The results of observations of Chinese tea and coffee products vary widely, and have a variety of flavors, especially local coffee tastes uniquely bitter, as does local tea. Chinese people are generally not so worried about the dangers of drinking tea and coffee, because health awareness is generally high. Thus the culture of drinking tea and coffee and its benefits have been well known by the Chinese people. Several examples of local tea and coffee types are presented in this news, namely green, yellow, black or brown tea. This research data is part of the regular fundamental research in 2024.
