Semarang, 15 June 2024 — In order to support the development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the digital era, the Service Team from the Information Systems Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Semarang State University (FMIPA UNNES) has held a workshop entitled “Loyalty Customer Based Consumer Behavioral Insights”. This activity was carried out with great enthusiasm on June 15 2024 in the Vicon Room of the UNNES Rectorate..
This service team is chaired by Yahya Nur Ifriza, S.Pd., M.Kom., with members Yusuf Wisnu Mandaya, ST., M.Kom., and Devi Ajeng Efrilianda S.Kom., M.Kom. This workshop presented guest speaker Syam Widia, S.E., M.B.A., an FEB UNNES lecturer in Economics and Business as well as an entrepreneur in the culinary field.
In his speech, Yahya Nur Ifriza expressed the importance of a deep understanding of consumer behavior to increase MSME customer loyalty. “In this digital era, competition is getting tougher. Therefore, MSMEs need to understand what consumers want and how to build long-term relationships with them,” he said.
This workshop is designed to provide insight to MSME players regarding effective strategies in retaining customers. Syam Widia explained various techniques based on behavioral insights that can be applied by MSMEs to increase customer loyalty. The material presented includes consumer behavior analysis, data-based marketing strategies, and the application of digital technology in customer relationship management.
Yusuf Wisnu Mandaya added that this activity also aims to encourage MSMEs to be more adaptive to changes in market trends and technology. “We hope that workshop participants can implement the knowledge gained to increase their business competitiveness,” he said.
One of the workshop participants, Mrs. Iin, owner of a bakery business in Semarang, expressed her gratitude for holding this activity. “This workshop was very useful. I got lots of new ideas about how to keep customers loyal to my business,” he said.
Devi Ajeng Efrilianda expressed her hope that workshops like this can be carried out sustainably. “By providing regular training and assistance, we are sure that MSMEs in Semarang and the surrounding area will continue to develop and be able to compete at national and international levels,” he concluded.
This activity is part of FMIPA UNNES’ commitment to making a real contribution to society, especially in empowering MSMEs through the use of science and technology.
