Semarang, 31 May 2024 – In commemoration of World No Tobacco Day, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Semarang State University (UNNES) held an outreach about the dangers of smoking and its impact on society. This activity took place in the main campus field and was attended by students, lecturers, education staff and the surrounding community.
The event started at 07.00 WIB with an opening by the Deputy Dean II FMIPA UNNES, Dr. Isnarto, M.Sc. In his speech, Dr. Isnarto, M.Sc. conveyed the importance of awareness of the dangers of smoking for individual health and the environment. “Cigarettes not only harm smokers themselves, but also the people around them. Today we gather to raise awareness of the dangers of smoking and encourage a healthy lifestyle without tobacco,” said Dr. Isnarto, M.Sc.
Deputy Dean II FMIPA UNNES, Dr. Isnarto, M.Sc., who was also present at the event, gave high appreciation to the FMIPA UNNES initiative. “This activity is very important to increase public awareness about the dangers of smoking. I hope that similar activities can continue to be carried out regularly and involve more parties,” said Dr. Isnarto, M.Sc.
This socialization event closed with a joint declaration of commitment to live a healthy life without smoking, where all participants signed a large banner as a symbol of support for the anti-smoking campaign. With high enthusiasm, FMIPA UNNES is committed to continuing to educate and inspire the public to stay away from cigarettes for better health.
By the end of this activity, FMIPA UNNES hopes to have a positive impact in increasing awareness of the dangers of smoking and encouraging a healthy lifestyle among the community.
