Semarang, 29 January 2024 – Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Semarang State University (UNNES) held a working meeting on 29-30 January 2023 to formulate Priorities and Strategies for 2024. The meeting was held with the aim of improving the quality of education, research and community service and establishing UNNES as a World Class University.
This working meeting was attended by faculty leaders, deans, heads of study programs, and FMIPA UNNES lecturers. In his report, the Dean of FMIPA UNNES, Prof. Dr. Edy Cahyono, M.Sc., conveyed the three main focuses of FMIPA UNNES, namely to be able to improve Main Performance Indicators (IKU), Strategic Plan Performance Indicators (IKS) and confirm FMIPA UNNES as a World Class University.
“In 2024, we have a big challenge to make FMIPA UNNES a faculty that is not only superior at the national level, but also known at the international level. Therefore, this working meeting will determine our 2024 Priorities and Strategy,” said Prof. Dr. Edy Cahyono, M.Sc.
In his remarks, UNNES Deputy Chancellor IV for Cooperation, Business and International Relations, Prof. Dr. Nur Qudus, M.T., IPM., said that the meeting was an important milestone in the faculty’s journey towards achieving the stated vision and mission.
One of the main highlights of the meeting was the determination of Key Performance Indicators (IKU) which will be a reference in measuring faculty achievements. This IKU involves several aspects, such as increasing the number of international scientific publications, improving the quality of learning, and increasing student competitiveness at the global level.
Apart from that, the working meeting also discussed Target Performance Indicators (IKS) which will be integrated into the Faculty’s Strategic Plan. This IKS includes various parameters that will measure the achievement of the faculty’s medium and long-term goals.
Prof. Dr. Nur Qudus, M.T., IPM., added, “By detailing the KPI and IKS, we can have a deeper understanding of faculty performance achievements. This will be the basis for more effective strategic decision making.”
The importance of achieving a World Class University was also the focus of the meeting. FMIPA UNNES is committed to strengthening international collaboration, improving the quality of globally relevant research, and involving students in internationally oriented academic activities.
With high enthusiasm, the 2024 FMIPA UNNES working meeting succeeded in determining Priorities and Strategies which will serve as a guide for the entire faculty academic community in facing challenges and achieving a common vision. With these strategic steps, it is hoped that FMIPA UNNES can move closer towards achieving the title of World Class University.
