Semarang, September 19, 2023 – A proud achievement comes from the Budi Team, representing the Universitas Negeri Semarang, in the Research & Innovation Poster Competition (RIPC) organized by MNNFNetwork. This competition is a prestigious international competition, and the Budi Team participated in the C1 category: Degree Final Year Project in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
Their poster titled “Cobalt-Porphyrin Modified Graphene Oxide Electrocatalysts for the Methanol Oxidation Reaction” competed in four award categories: diamond, gold, silver, and bronze. It successfully secured the Gold Award, which is a remarkable accomplishment, signifying that the poster effectively conveyed the research conducted by the Budi Team.
Their research focused on the modification of electrocatalysts with Graphene Oxide-Cobalt Porphyrin (GO-(Co-Por) for the methanol oxidation reaction, intended for use in Direct Methanol Fuel Cells (DMFCs) in portable devices to generate energy.
The Budi Team, led by Budi Mahdyanto, consists of talented members, including M. Nasywan Wafa Zahran, Ichan Chandra Dewa, Maya Apriliana Padila, and Angela Putri Maharani. They put in tremendous effort into this research, which holds great potential for the advancement of science and technology in the future.
Cepi Kurniawan S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D., who serves as the supervisor of the Budi Team, provided invaluable guidance throughout the project. Their research results on electrocatalysts modified with Cobalt-Porphyrin and graphene oxide for methanol oxidation have brought new innovations to the world of STEM research.
Budi, the team’s leader, expressed their happiness and gratitude for the achievement they have attained. “We are very grateful and happy for receiving the Gold Award, and we hope this award marks the beginning of our team’s contribution to advancing science and technology. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our supervisor, Cepi Kurniawan S. Si., M. Si., Ph. D, for providing full support and guidance from start to finish.”
