The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Cooperation Task Force team conducted a work visit to PT Alfan Mechatronic Innovation (AMI) in Malang on September 15, 2023, with the aim of expanding cooperation networks with the industry. This is one of the performance index achievements that must be fulfilled by the academic community at FMIPA UNNES. During this collaborative visit, collaboration with PT AMI Malang was also initiated in the form of student internships, practitioner teaching, joint research, and co-teaching with relevant study programs.
During this event, discussions were held between the Director of PT AMI Malang, Mr. Alfan Imawani, and representatives from FMIPA UNNES, including Dr. Masrukan, M.Si., Dr. Triastuti Sulistyaningsih, M.Si, Arif Widiyatmoko, S.Pd., M.Pd., Ph.D. (Natural Sciences), Dr. Budi Astuti, M.Sc. (Physics), Dr. Dewi Mustikaningtyas (Biology), Anggyi Trisnawan Putra, M.Si (Computer Science), and Senda Kartika Rakainsa, S.Farm., M.Pharm.Sc. (Pharmacy), who represented the FMIPA UNNES cooperation task force.
Before the discussion began, the Director of PT AMI provided an overview of PT AMI’s various fields of operation, including Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Landscape, Wafer Fountain, EBT, Trainer, IoT System, Training, Education, K3, and Management. PT AMI has established national collaborations with various regional and central government agencies, as well as secondary schools, vocational institutions, and universities in East Java in the fields it manages.
Following the presentation, the discussion continued, focusing on opportunities for student internship collaborations. The Director of PT AMI welcomed this offer, and PT AMI has a well-structured curriculum that aligns with the government’s MBKM program. Additionally, the Director of PT AMI expressed readiness to be a partner in the practitioner teaching process and had prepared a curriculum that could be adapted to the course curriculum for co-teaching. The curriculum offered is project-based learning, ensuring that each student will have a distinguished product at the end of their studies, ultimately imparting entrepreneurial skills to students. The Director of PT AMI also expressed willingness to collaborate as a partner in FMIPA faculty activities, whether it be research or community service that requires a partner.
In the end, both parties agreed to collaborate in the future, marked by the signing of an Implementation of Arrangement (IA) between FMIPA UNNES and PT AMI Malang. Both FMIPA UNNES and PT ASIMAS hope that this collaborative effort will proceed smoothly and successfully, benefiting all parties involved.
