Pusat Kajian Sumber Daya Alam dan Lingkungan (SDAL) Fakultas MIPA UNNES bekerjasama dengan Balai Taman Nasional Tanjung Puting menyelenggarakan Webinar Internasional “Wildlife Ecotourism”. Webinar yang diselenggarakan pada tanggal 21 Oktober 2021 secara daring ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan pengetahuan para pemangku kepentingan pariwisata, pelaku wisata, pemerintah, peneliti, dan mahasiswa tentang ekowisata satwa liar sebagai pengelolaan sumber daya alam yang berkelanjutan.
Acara yang dibuka oleh Dr. Masrukan, M. Si. (Wakil Dekan Bidang Akademik FMIPA UNNES) berlangsung sukses dengan diikuti lebih dari 1.500 peserta yang bergabung melalui Zoom video conference dan live streaming YouTube channel Pusat Kajian SDAL FMIPA UNNES. Peserta berasal dari 14 negara yaitu Albania, Australia, Burma, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philipina, Afrika Selatan, Spanyol, Srilanka, Sudan dan Timor Leste. Dalam laporannya, Dr. Margareta Rahayuningsih, M. Si. (Ketua Pusat Kajian SDA dan Lingkungan) menyebutkan bahwa webinar ini penting untuk memotivasi dan meningkatkan kapasitas pemangku kepentingan pariwisata dalam ekowisata satwa liar.
Tiga pakar yang menjadi narasumber adalah Murlan Dameria Pane, S.Hut,M.Si. (Kepala Balai Taman Nasional Tanjung Puting), Prof. Luchman Hakim, S.Si.,M.Agr.Sc.,Ph.D (Guru Besar Biologi bidang ekowisata dari Universitas Brawijaya), serta Prof. Noel Scott (Guru besar bidang pengembangan wisata berkelanjutan dari University of the Sunshine Coast Australia). Sesi tanya jawab yang dipandu oleh Arif Nugroho, S.Si. dan Muhammad Abdullah, S. Si., M. Sc. berlangsung lancar dengan antusiasme peserta yang tinggi.
Di akhir sesi webinar, Ibu Murlan selaku Kepala Balai TNTP membuka kesempatan seluas-luasnya bagi para akademisi untuk berkolaborasi melakukan kajian penelitian dan kegiatan ilmiah lainnya di Taman Nasional Tanjung Puting.
