Sabtu (27/03/21), FMIPA UNNES sukses menyelenggarakan kegiatan Webinar Internasional dengan tema “Riset dan Inovasi dalam Pendidikan STEM” dalam rangka Dies Natalis UNNES yang ke-56. Webinar Internasional 2021 ini dilaksanakan secara daring melalui Zoom Meeting, disiarkan secara langsung melalui Chanel Youtube FMIPA UNNES dan juga Facebook.

Kegiatan Webinar diawali dengan menyanyikan lagu kebangsaan Indonesia Raya dan Mars Universitas Negeri Semarang, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan berdo’a bersama. Selanjutnya adalah sambutan oleh Ketua Panitia Webinar Internasional 2021 Arif Widiyatmoko, Ph.D., beliau menyampaikan laporan bahwa Webinar Internasional FMIPA 2021 ini diikuti lebih dari 1.000 peserta yang telah registrasi dari dalam negeri maupun luar negeri, peserta dalam negeri tersebar dari 34 provinsi di Indonesia, sedangkan peserta luar negeri berasal dari Malaysia, Amerika Serikat, Turki, Thailand, Jepang, Australia, Kamboja, Laos, Zambia, dan Malawi. Wakil Rektor Bidang Akademik Prof. Dr. Zaenuri, S.E, M.Si,Akt. menyampaikan sambutan dan keynote speech dari Rektor UNNES sekaligus membuka secara resmi kegiatan Webinar Internasional FMIPA 2021 dalam rangka Dies Natalis UNNES yang ke-56 ini. Selanjutnya adalah sesi foto bersama yang dipandu pembawa acara Dr. Budi Astuti, M.Sc.

Kegiatan inti dari Webinar Internasional 2021 ini adalah sesi sidang pleno yang dipandu oleh moderator Samuel Budi Wardhana Kusuma, Ph.D. Dalam pemaparannya narasumber pertama Prof. Gillian Roehrig (Universitas Minnesota, AS) menyampaikan materinya yang berjudul “Defining and Researching K-12 Integrated STEM”. Prof. Gillian Roehrig mendefinisikan STEM dan meneliti K-12 STEM terintegrasi, kemudian menjelaskan bagaimana penelitian di STEM, dengan Pengembangan STEM Observation Protocol (STEM-OP) yaitu (1) Video review dari kualitas iSTEM, (2) Pengembangan kolaborasi draf, (3) Analisis dan konsolidasi, (4) Level item, dan (5) Deskripsi item dan panduan penilaian. Contoh STEM-OP dengan Faktor 1 Orde Tinggi Berpikir dan Rancangan Keputusan, Faktor 2 Konteks untuk Pembelajaran STEM, Faktor 3 Data Praktek, Faktor 4 Sifat dari integrasi STEM, dan Faktor 5 Karir STEM.

Narasumber kedua Dr. Sitti Maesuri Patahuddin (University of Canberra, Australia) memaparkan presentasinya dengan judul “Research and Innovation in STEM Education: Perspective from STEM Practices Approach”. Beberapa pembahasan terkait (1) STEM Education, (2) STEM Practices, dan (3) Spatial Reasoning for STEM Success.

Sedangkan narasumber ketiga Zaenal Abidin, Ph.D. (Universitas Negeri Semarang, Indonesia) memaparkan presentasinya dengan judul “STEM Education Through Robotics: A lesson from a robotics teacher training”. Dalam penelitian ini telah dihasilkan beberapa robot yang dapat digunakan untuk pembelajaran STEM. Robot itu dikembangkan sesuai kebutuhan kegiatan belajar mengajar. Semarak tanya jawab terlihat dari peserta yang mengajukan pertanyaan-pertanyaannya untuk ketiga narasumber melalui media chat di Zoom dan juga Chanel Youtube.
