120016955_10224577072842430_1602457121547486141_oJurusan Kimia menyelenggarakan Seminar Nasional Kimia dan Pendidikan Kimia (SNKPK) 2020 pada hari Sabtu (26/9) dengan mengambil tema “Peranan Kimia dan Penguatan Pembelajaran Kimia dalam Era Industri 4.0” yang berlangsung secara daring. Dalam kesempatan ini diundang tiga narasumber utama, yaitu Prof. Aldes Lesbani, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D. (Program Doktor Ilmu MIPA, Universitas Sriwijaya Palembang), Hendri Sulistyo Pribadi, S.T (Plant Manager PT. Cargill Sorini, Agro Asia Corporindo), Dr. Woro Sumarni, M.Si (Jurusan Kimia FMIPA Universitas Negeri Semarang).

Prof Aldes Lesbani mengangkat tema tentang senyawa kluster logam oksigen: aplikasi dalam bidang energi dan lingkungan, sedangkan Bapak Hendri Sulityo Pribadi membahas tentang pengembangan industri gula untuk masa depan dan peranannya dalam bidang kesehatan. Dr. Woro Sumarni lebih banyak bercerita tentang Etno-STEM: peranannya dalam pembelajaran Kimia.

Perubahan dunia yang sangat cepat dalam hal teknologi, inovasi sains, globalisasi, perubahan kebutuhan dunia kerja, dan ekonomi, mengharuskan adanya penguasaan ketrampilan abad 21 (21st century skills) seperti: komunikasi, kolaborasi, berpikir kritis dalam memecahkan masalah, serta kreatifitas dan inovasi bagi para siswa/mahasiswa agar mampu dan siap berperan aktif dan berkontribusi pada masyarakat. Dalam konteks Pendidikan sains, khususnya kimia, aspek-aspek dalam keterampilan abad 21 ini dapat dimunculkan melalui berbagai aktifitas pembelajaran dan riset kimia. Nilai-nilai dan metode ilmiah yang mendasari pelaksanaan riset dapat menjadi media yang baik dalam pengembangan keterampilan sains tersebut. Adanya sinergi dalam pelaksanaan riset dan pembelajaran sudah barang tentu akan sangat mendukung pengembangan keterampilan sains abad 21 untuk memperkuat modal sosial dan modal intelektual peserta didik. Di sisi lain, guru-guru yang yang mampu membantu siswa untuk memunculkan dan mengembangkan ketrampilan sains abad 21 juga perlu disiapkan dengan baik. Hal ini membutuhkan kerja keras para pendidik (LPTK) dalam menyampaikan strategi-strategi pembelajaran yang tepat yang berkaitan dengan teori-teori dasar dan sains aplikatif berbasis riset yang mendalam. Dengan adanya seminar ini diharapkan dapat menjadi media komunikasi dan diskusi antara peneliti, pendidik, praktisi dan stakeholder.

Seminar Nasional Kimia dan Pendidikan Kimia (SNKPK) 2020 ini telah diikuti oleh 36 pemakalah dan 169 non pemakalah yang berasal dari 7 perguruan tinggi, 2 pendidikan menengah, serta 2 pusat/lembaga ilmu pengetahuan/balai penelitian. Berdasarkan asal daerah peserta pemakalah dan non pemakalah tersebar di seluruh wilayah Indonesia sebanyak 7 provinsi, yaitu DKI Jakarta, Jawa Barat, Jawa Tengah, Jawa Timur, Kalimantan Barat, Sumatera Selatan dan Jambi. Peserta ini berasal dari berbagai latar belakang pekerjaan seperti peneliti, akademisi-pendidik, guru, serta para mahasiswa S1.
