Komitmen UNNES menghadapi perkembangan dunia pendidikan tinggi ke depan harus dapat merespon dan beradaptasi dengan perubahan masyarakat nasional dan internasional yang tidak cukup “berlari”, harus “melompat” dan bahkan “terbang” sangat perlu dukungan dari unit-unit didalamnya, alah satunya FMIPA. Untuk itulah guna mensukseskan program-program UNNES yang melakukan lompatan-lompatan besar, FMIPA melakukan perubahan terencana yang berkesinambungan yang dirumuskan dalam rencana strategis bisnis.
Rencana Strategis Bisnis FMIPA tahun 2015-2019 telah dilaksanakan dengan sukses, kini FMIPA telah mentargetkan capaian-capaiannya pada Rencana Strategis Bisnis FMIPA Tahun 2020-2024 yang menjadi kesinambungan periode sebelumnya. Rencana yang disusun tentunya merupakan penjabaran dari Renstra Bisnis UNNES 2020 -2024, sekaligus merupakan rencana capaian-capaian yang ditargetkan FMIPA dalam mendukung UNNES untuk meraih status PTN Badan Hukum bereputasi ASEAN.
Guna mendukung hal tersebut Renstra Bisnis FMIPA Tahun 2020–2024 ditetapkan sebanyak 10 Sasaran Utama (SU) dan 68 Indikator Kinerja Utama (IKU). Sasaran dan indikator kinerja ini sebagai pedoman dan arah pengembangan FMIPA lima tahun ke depan yang lebih inovatif. Selain itu, agar keberhasilan berbagai target tersebut lebih sistematis, masif, dan terstruktur, Rencana Strategis Bisnis FMIPA 2020-2024 juga diperuntukkan sebagai strategi pengelolaan keuangan yang terencana dan terkendali yang dapat dijadikan acuan seluruh sub unit kerja sampai dengan Program Studi di lingkungan FMIPA UNNES.
