Menuju Universitas Bertaraf Internasional, Unnes Tingkatkan Inovasi dan Riset

Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) harus menjadi perguruan tinggi berkelas. Pertama harus menjadi pionir terdepan dalam perguruan tinggi Lembaga Pendidikan dan Tenaga Kependidkan (LPTK) yakni melakukan penguatan jati diri LPTK dengan melakukan inovasi-inovasi didalam edukasi. Ke-dua meningkatkan riset.

Kelemahan LPTK Indonesia yaitu dalam budaya akademik. Unnes harus didorong untuk melakukan penguatan- penguatan dalam hal akademik sehingga cita-cita Unnes 2020 sebagai Universitas bertaraf internasional dapat terwujud.

Rektor Prof Fathur Rokhman MHum menyampaikan itu setelah Coffee Morning dengan Pembantu Rektor, Dekan, Pembantu Dekan, dan para pimpinan dilingkungan Unnes, Senin (22/12) di rektorat kampus Sekaran Gunungpati.

“Unnes harus tumbuh sebagai rumah ilmu yakni atmosfir akademik harus berbasis pada ilmu pengetahuan yang muaranya pada sumber daya manusia (SDM) baik dosen, dan mahasiswa harus ditingkatkan kualitasnya,” kata Rektor.

Rektor juga mengemukakan, beberapa hari yang lalu ketika saya memanggil para profesor di Unnes saya meminta untuk berkarya dalam tiga hal yakni minimal dalam satu tahun harus membuat satu buku, artikel dimuat di jurnal internasional, dan mempresentasikan karya atau gagasannya di tingkat nasional maupun internasional.

Jadi setiap profesor harus mempertahankan ke tiga hal itu, jika selama kurun waktu setahun tidak berkarya dalam ke tiga itu maka tunjangan guru besarnya bisa dihentikan, kata Rektor.

    Dengan Insyallah tingginya komitmen para punggawa unnes untuk berinovasi, semoga pertumbuhan unnes ke arah universitas konservasi bertaraf internasional akan terakselerasi. Hal tersebut karena inovasi tak dapat dipungkiri menjadi ruh dari perkembangan suatu institusi ke arah kemajuan.
