Semarang – The Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) continues to strengthen its commitment to creating an inclusive educational environment accessible to the entire academic community. This commitment is demonstrated, in part, by providing support facilities for individuals with disabilities and those with limited mobility within the Faculty of Engineering complex.
Various accessibility features have been installed in the building, including ramps equipped with handrails. These facilities offer safer and more comfortable access options for wheelchair users and individuals with limited mobility when entering and using the building. In addition to ramps, the UNNES Faculty of Engineering provides elevators to facilitate movement between floors. These elevators ensure access to classrooms, academic service offices, workspaces, and other facilities located on different levels.

Elevators facilitate easy movement between floors for users of the UNNES Faculty of Engineering building.
The provision of these disability-friendly facilities aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 10: Reduced Inequalities. SDG 10 promotes equal opportunities and the removal of barriers that might otherwise limit certain groups’ access to services and facilities.
In the context of higher education, providing accessible infrastructure is a tangible way to support equal opportunities for all campus members, including those with disabilities. Accessible facilities foster the participation of students, lecturers, administrative staff, and the public in various academic activities, ensuring that physical environmental conditions do not pose obstacles.
These efforts are particularly aligned with the spirit of SDG 10, which encourages social inclusion and provides broader opportunities for participation to everyone, regardless of their condition or background. Within a university setting, this principle is realized by providing educational facilities and services that are accessible to diverse groups of users. The provision of ramps, handrails, and elevators demonstrates the UNNES Faculty of Engineering’s commitment to accessibility, safety, comfort, and equitable service. Inclusive infrastructure plays a vital role in fostering an educational environment that enables the entire academic community to learn, work, and participate optimally.

The accessibility facilities at the UNNES Faculty of Engineering are part of an effort to create an inclusive educational environment and support the achievement of SDG 10.
The UNNES Faculty of Engineering continues to prioritize the maintenance and enhancement of accessibility across its learning facilities and public services. These measures aim to strengthen the creation of an increasingly inclusive campus while contributing to the achievement of SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), particularly by providing more equal access and opportunities for all members of the campus community.
