SEMARANG – The Faculty of Education and Psychology (FIPP) of Semarang State University (UNNES) held a sports competition between study programs and departments as part of the 2026 Education Month program on campus on Tuesday (September 29, 2026). The event, which featured tennis, chess, and PES, ran from 8:00 a.m. WIB (Western Indonesian Time) until late afternoon.

Participants in this sports competition are delegates from each study program under the auspices of FIPP UNNES as well as representatives of the dean’s office.

One of the interesting facts in this competition occurred in the chess event. In the match for first place, the Dean of FIPP had to lose to AH. Sobri, an educational staff member at FIPP UNNES.

The competition organizing committee, Achmad Farchan, M.Pd., said that this activity was held as a forum for fostering friendship and character building on campus.

“This sports competition is part of a series of activities for the 2026 FIPP UNNES Education Month. This activity serves as a means to improve physical fitness, sportsmanship, and strengthen togetherness among the academic community. It is also expected to serve as a medium for character development, collaboration, and a healthy competitive spirit on campus,” said Achmad Farchan.

Based on the final results of the match, the 1st place winner of the Chess Competition which took place in the 2nd floor room of the dean’s office was won by the representative of the dean’s office (AH. Sobri, S.Pd.), followed by the representative of another dean’s office (Prof. Dr. Edy Purwanto, M.Si.) as 2nd place winner.
