Semarang — The Central Java Province BBPMP (Elementary School Friend Selection Workshop) held a Phase 1 Elementary School Friend Selection Workshop in 2026 on June 17–18, 2026. The workshop was attended by school supervisors from Semarang Regency, Semarang City, Demak Regency, Kendal Regency, and Salatiga City, as well as lecturers and students from Semarang State University. UNNES Non-Formal Education (PNF) students also participated in the development of monitoring for the Phase 1 Elementary School Friend Selection Program in 2026.

The workshop featured two speakers from the UNNES Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Study Program: Galih Mahardika Christian Putra, S.Pd., M.Pd. and Aldina Eka Andriani, S.Pd., M.Pd. The presence of these speakers strengthened the assessment and selection process for videos of good learning practices, which was the main focus of the event.

The two-day workshop focused on the selection process for videos showcasing the implementation of good learning practices. On the first day, participants assessed various videos related to learning implementation submitted by participants from various regions. On the second day, a further selection process was conducted for the best videos, which would then be submitted to the national level as regional representatives.

During this activity, students from the UNNES Non-Formal Education Program (Prigel Pendidikan Nonformal UNNES) actively supported the development of monitoring for the SD Friends Selection program throughout the event. Their involvement not only supported the smooth running of the event but also provided real-world experience in developing communication skills, teamwork, and managing professional activities in the education sector.

The participation of UNNES PNF Prigel students in this workshop demonstrated their commitment to supporting the improvement of the quality of basic education while strengthening synergies between universities and government educational institutions. Through direct field involvement, students gained practical experience relevant to the world of work and community service.

This activity also contributed to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4, Quality Education. The Elementary School Friends Selection Workshop is one effort to encourage innovative learning practices, improve the quality of educators, and expand the dissemination of good practices in elementary education in Indonesia. Furthermore, collaboration between universities, the government, and school supervisors also supports the creation of partnerships for sustainable education development in accordance with SDG 17, “Partnerships for the Goals.”
