FIPP UNNES Students Win First Place in the International Mental Health Competition 2025

UNNES PSYCHOLOGY — Students from the Faculty of Education and Psychology (FIPP) at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) have once again achieved an outstanding accomplishment on the international stage. A team consisting of Zivora Rifqa Aqeela (Psychology, 2024), Machiko Laquisha Zuleika El Agni (Education for Early Children, 2025), and Latifa Farah Kamila (Education for Early Children, 2025) successfully won First Place in the Short Movie category of the International Mental Health Competition 2025 (I-MENTION 2025).

The competition was held online and organized by Syiah Kuala University, Aceh, running from August to October 2025. I-MENTION 2025 brought together participants from universities across Indonesia and abroad, aiming to enhance students’ awareness and creativity in addressing mental health issues through scientific and creative media works.

The short film they created highlights the theme of inferiority as its main issue. The team successfully presented this theme through educational messages and humanitarian values that are relevant to current mental health issues. The originality of their idea and the strength of their narrative were among the key factors behind their success in winning first place.

One of the team members, Zivora Rifqa Aqeela, expressed her gratitude and excitement for the achievement. “This competition has given me a lot of new experiences. I’m very happy to have gained such valuable insights into how international competitions are conducted,” said Zivora.

This achievement is expected to inspire other UNNES students to continue creating and excelling at both national and international levels, while also reinforcing the university’s commitment to promoting mental health awareness among the younger generation.
