FIPP UNNES Welcomes Students from VIA University Denmark to Strengthen Cultural and Educational Exchange

Semarang, October 9, 2025 — The Faculty of Education and Psychology (FIPP) of Semarang State University (UNNES) welcomed students from VIA University College, Denmark, on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. This visit provided an opportunity to introduce the Indonesian academic and cultural environment to international students while broadening their knowledge of educational and cultural diversity.
During the visit, VIA University College students interacted with the FIPP UNNES academic community through activities that introduced the richness of Indonesian culture. Documentation of the activities shows students trying to play the traditional angklung musical instrument with other participants. This activity provided direct experience of Indonesian arts and culture while creating a warm and pleasant atmosphere of interaction.
Cross-cultural encounters like this can broaden students’ understanding of differences in traditions, customs, and perspectives of society. Through direct experience, international students have the opportunity to get to know Indonesian culture more closely, while the FIPP UNNES academic community has the space to build communication and relationships with academic communities from other countries.
This activity supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, particularly through cross-cultural learning that broadens knowledge and encourages appreciation for diversity. Furthermore, this activity is related to SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Human Settlements, particularly in the context of preserving and introducing cultural heritage through traditional arts such as the angklung to the international community.
Through the visit of VIA University College students, FIPP UNNES continues to encourage the creation of an academic environment open to the exchange of knowledge and culture. This activity is expected to strengthen cross-cultural understanding, increase appreciation for Indonesian cultural heritage, and open opportunities for sustainable international academic relations.
