Semarang, Wednesday, August 20, 2025 – The Faculty of Law, State University of Semarang (FH UNNES) held the International Forum on Sustainable Development Goals 2025: Focus Group Discussion on Women Empowerment which took place in the GSG Room on the 3rd Floor of the Dean of FH UNNES. The event, which started at 09.00 WIB, was attended by academics, researchers, students, and strategic partners both from within and outside the country.
This international forum is a productive discussion space on women’s empowerment issues from a global and national perspective. Through the Focus Group Discussion (FGD), the participants reviewed the challenges and opportunities in strengthening the role of women in various sectors, including education, law, economy, and sustainable development.
This activity is in line with UNNES’ commitment to support Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 5: Gender Equality, which emphasizes gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls around the world. In addition, this forum also contributes to SDG 4: Quality Education, by providing quality education and scientific space to increase awareness and understanding of global strategic issues.
Through the organization of this forum, FH UNNES affirms its position as a faculty that echoes in international contributions, produces graduates who are empowered in facing global challenges, and Sovereign in carrying the values of justice, equality, and human dignity.

The forum served as a collaborative platform to discuss innovative strategies for strengthening women’s leadership, expanding equal opportunities, promoting inclusive public participation, and enhancing legal and policy frameworks that protect women’s rights. Through meaningful dialogue and international collaboration, the event reaffirmed the importance of empowering women as key drivers of social justice, economic progress, and sustainable development.
This initiative contributes directly to SDG 5 – Gender Equality by promoting women’s empowerment and equal participation in decision-making. It also supports SDG 4 – Quality Education through knowledge exchange and capacity building, SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities by encouraging inclusive opportunities for all, SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions by strengthening legal awareness, human rights, and inclusive governance, and SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals through international collaboration among universities, government institutions, civil society organizations, and global partners.
