SEMARANG – Law faculty students are often identified with debating articles of law and rigid legal logic. However, a different and refreshing sight could be seen at the Law Faculty of Semarang State University (UNNES). Hundreds of academics briefly set aside academic debates to sit together for the Commemoration of Nuzulul Qur’an and Congregational Tarawih Prayer on Tuesday (3/3/2026).
This spiritual activity, centered at the FH UNNES campus in Semarang, is an integral part of the faculty’s annual program called Ramasinta (Harmonious Ramadan Full of Love). Launched on February 23, Ramasinta has fostered a religious atmosphere on campus through routines like the congregational Dhuhr prayer, regular religious studies, up to its peak on the night commemorating the revelation of the Qur’an.
For FH UNNES, the commemoration of Nuzulul Qur’an is seen as much more than just a ceremony. The Qur’an is positioned as the ultimate source of law and moral compass that teaches substantive justice. This spiritual guidance is considered a crucial foundation for future law enforcers. Sharp legal reasoning without integrity and a tender conscience will only create new injustices in society. That’s why the moments of communal Tarawih prayers and the Nuzulul Qur’an commemoration become valuable spaces for reflection. Through the consistent Ramasinta program, FH UNNES sends a very clear message to the public: this institution doesn’t just produce graduates who are smart at dissecting laws, but also prepares young jurists who are moral, religious, and just.
