The Acting Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS), Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), Prof. Dr. Nur Qudus, M.T., IPM., delivered strategic directions during the FBS UNNES Work Meeting held at Golden Hill Hotel, Malang, on Tuesday (February 4, 2026). The directives focused on improving the performance of study programs and human resources to achieve institutional targets in 2026.

In his address, Prof. Nur Qudus emphasized the importance of internal consolidation to ensure that each study program develops a clear, measurable, and aligned performance roadmap in line with the university’s policies. According to him, the faculty’s overall performance is determined mainly by the strength and effectiveness of its study programs.

“Each study program must set concrete targets supported by realistic strategies. The performance of study programs represents the overall performance of the faculty,” Prof. Nur Qudus stated during the meeting.

In addition to strengthening study program performance, the Acting Dean highlighted the strategic role of human resource development in achieving the faculty’s 2026 targets. Efforts to enhance the quality of academic and administrative staff focus on improving academic qualifications, increasing research productivity, expanding scholarly publications, and strengthening educational and non-academic services.

Prof. Nur Qudus further stressed that human resource performance improvement must be carried out systematically and sustainably, in response to the ongoing transformation of FBS in supporting UNNES as a State University with Legal Entity Status (PTN-BH). This includes adaptation to new governance mechanisms, performance-based work culture, and impact-oriented institutional development.

The 2026 FBS UNNES Work Meeting also served as a platform to evaluate faculty performance in the previous year and to formulate strategic steps to address future challenges. All units were encouraged to align their programs and key performance indicators with faculty- and university-level targets.

Through this work meeting, FBS UNNES is expected to enhance its overall institutional performance—both at the study program and human resource levels—ensuring that the strategic targets for 2026 are achieved effectively and sustainably.
