UNNES Kampus Hijau

 

UNNES adalah universitas yang berorientasi konservasi. Wawasan konservasi merupakan model yang harus diikuti dan ditiru. Ini adalah keyakinan yang mendasari sudut pandang dan memperlakukan masalahnya sebagai fokus perhatian (konservasi).

Perspektif konservasi menjadi acuan yang disepakati dan digunakan oleh civitas akademika UNNES sebagai civitas akademika. Wawasan konservasi adalah sistem yang memberikan arahan dan membimbing sikap dan perilaku dalam melakukan sesuatu yang layak dipilih dengan sikap dan komitmen yang berkembang dalam ilmu pengetahuan dan membangun manusia dan kemanusiaannya.

Wawasan konservasi memiliki peran penting karena perkembangan iptek global memberikan dampak positif bagi pembangunan dan dampak negatif bagi masyarakat. Dampak negatif yang muncul adalah 1) nilai dan karakter bangsa yang unggul terkikis, 2) seni dan budaya bangsa yang unik dan luhur dilupakan, dan 3) terjadi degradasi lingkungan meskipun banyak aset SDA yang belum dikelola optimal.

Dalam upaya mengatasi krisis sosial dan lingkungan tersebut, UNNES mendeklarasikan sebagai Universitas Konservasi pada tahun 2010. Naskah akademik tahun 2009 dan Peraturan Rektor No 22 Tahun 2012 menjelaskan bahwa Universitas Konservasi adalah universitas yang dalam pelaksanaan Tridharma PT nya mengacu kepada prinsip-prinsip konservasi yang meliputi perlindungan, pengawetan, dan pemanfaatan secara lestari SDA dan seni budaya, serta berwawasan ramah lingkungan. Pelaksanaan Tridharma UNNES mengedepankan dan memperhatikan prinsip-prinsip atau wawasan konservasi tersebut.

UNNES berkewajiban untuk mempromosikan pembangunan yang berorientasi konservasi. Referensi konservasi nasional mencakup tiga kegiatan konservasi: 1) perlindungan sistem pendukung kehidupan, 2) pelestarian yang mencakup konservasi, dan 3) pemanfaatan berkelanjutan. Secara sederhana, kegiatan konservasi mencakup tiga unsur kegiatan yang saling terkait, yaitu melindungi dan menyelamatkan, mempelajari, dan memanfaatkan. Strategi Pengembangan UNNES ke depan untuk mewujudkan visi UNNES 2040 mengacu pada tiga hal tersebut.
