Semarang — Program Studi Magister Pendidikan IPA menyelenggarakan kegiatan guest lecture bertema “STEM-Based Learning Innovation” pada tanggal 17 Juli pukul 09.00–11.00 WIB. Kegiatan ini menghadirkan pemateri internasional, Dr. Kulthida Nugultham dari Kasetsart University (KU), Thailand.

Kuliah umum ini diikuti oleh 81 peserta yang terdiri atas mahasiswa Program Studi Magister Pendidikan IPA, Magister Pendidikan Fisika, serta Sarjana Pendidikan Fisika. Antusiasme peserta terlihat tinggi sepanjang kegiatan berlangsung, terutama saat sesi diskusi interaktif.

Kegiatan ini diinisiasi oleh Ketua Program Studi Pendidikan IPA, Arif Widiatmoko, S.Pd., M.Pd., Ph.D., yang bekerja sama dengan Dr. Ellianawati selaku ketua penelitian kerja sama Matching Grant Luar Negeri 2026 dengan Kasetsart University sebagai salah satu mitra. Selain berperan dalam kerja sama tersebut, Dr. Ellianawati juga bertindak sebagai moderator dalam acara ini.

Dalam pemaparannya, Dr. Kulthida Nugultham menjelaskan perkembangan inovasi pembelajaran berbasis STEM di Kasetsart University. Ia menekankan bahwa pendekatan STEM saat ini mulai bergeser ke arah penguatan kegiatan ilmiah siswa yang berorientasi pada keberlanjutan (sustainability). Fokus utamanya meliputi misi zero waste, penguatan sektor pertanian, serta pengolahan hasil pangan berbasis pertanian.

“Pembelajaran STEM tidak hanya tentang teknologi, tetapi juga bagaimana siswa mampu memecahkan masalah nyata di lingkungannya, termasuk isu keberlanjutan,” ungkapnya.

Sesi tanya jawab berlangsung dinamis dengan berbagai pertanyaan kritis dari peserta. Beberapa isu yang diangkat antara lain keselamatan kerja dalam pembelajaran yang melibatkan teknologi, strategi memotivasi guru di daerah dengan keterbatasan akses teknologi modern agar tetap dapat menerapkan pendekatan STEM, serta cara mengintegrasikan unsur seni dalam konsep STEAM. Diskusi tersebut menunjukkan tingginya kepedulian mahasiswa terhadap implementasi pembelajaran inovatif di berbagai konteks.

Kegiatan guest lecture ini ditutup dengan ucapan terima kasih dari Ketua Program Studi S2 Pendidikan IPA kepada narasumber dan seluruh peserta yang telah berpartisipasi aktif. Diharapkan, kegiatan ini dapat memperkaya wawasan mahasiswa serta mendorong pengembangan pembelajaran STEM yang kontekstual dan berkelanjutan di Indonesia.
