Mahasiswa Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) 2020 Desa Kawengen, Kecamatan Ungaran Timur, Kabupaten Semarang mempromosikan potensi Desa tersebut dengan cara gelar “Kawengen Festival”.

Kegiatan dibuka oleh Kepala Desa Marjani dengan memotong pita. Hadir Dwi Gansar Santi Wijayanti SPd MPd (Dosen Pembimbing Lapangan), pejabat kelurahan beserta jajarannya, dan masyarakat Desa Kawengen.

Ketua Pelaksana Avi Nur Indriyani melaporkan, Kawengen Festival merupakan program kerja unggulan yang merupakan output dari seluruh program kerja empat bidang yang telah dilaksanakan sebelumnya yakni Bidang Ekonomi, Kesehatan, Pendidikan, dan Infrastruktur.

Kegiatan dengan mengusung tema “Kawengen Berbudaya Menuju Desa Wirausaha” ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakan dan mempromosikan potensi Desa Kawengen, baik dari segi Sumber Daya Alam (SDA) maupun Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM), Minggu (23/02/2020).

Kegiatan diawali dengan jalan sehat sebagai langkah untuk membudayakan hidup sehat di masyarakat, selain itu tersedia berbagai doorprize untuk meningkatkan antusias warga dalam mengikutinya.

Kemudian, setelah sampai finish para peserta bisa mengunjungi bazar diikuti oleh para pelaku usaha yang sebelumnya merupakan peserta pelatihan Workshop Entrepreneur yang merupakan salah satu program kerja KKN dilaksanakan sebanyak tiga kali di Aula Balai Desa Kawengen pada minggu pertama sampai minggu ketiga pelaksanaan KKN.

Produk unggulan yang dijajakan di dominasi oleh bisnis kuliner. Target dari event ini adalah memperkenalkan produk-produk mereka. Karena yang berdagang disini kebanyakan adalah usaha baru, jadi kita membantu dalam memasarkan produk mereka.

Selain itu, juga produk unggulan KKN Alternatif 1 UNNES 2020 yaitu NUJUKA (Nugget Jagung Kawengen) dan KEJAWEN (Keripik Jagung Kawengen).
Melalui kegiatan Kawengen Festival, kedua produk ini berhasil mendapatkan responpo sitif yang lebih luas dari masyarakat.

Selain Bazar UMKM, juga ditampilkan pentas seni dari siswa TK/RA dan SD/MI di Desa Kawengen bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menampilkan bakat-bakat terpendam dari siswa mulai dari Tari Tradisional, Senam Kreasi dan Rebana.
Diakhir acara Stand Bazar UMKM atas nama bisnis Mas Duki Frozen Food keluar sebagai juara Stand Terbaik.

Kategori Penampilan Terbaik TK/RA menangkan oleh TK ABA 1 Kawengen dan Kategori SD/MI dimenangkan oleh SDN 02 Kawengen. Seluruh partisipan dalam acara ini juga mendapatkan hadiah hiburan.

Upaya promosi potensi desa melalui kegiatan Kawengen Festival ini, juga diapresiasi oleh Kepala Desa Kawengen, Marjani. Dirinya berharap agar kegiatan semacam ini bisa terus dipertahankan dan dikonsep semakin baik kedepannya agar mendapatkan perhatian yang lebih luas.

“Melalui Kawengen Festival mudah-mudahan dapat menjadi motivasi bagi masyarakat untuk mengembangkan kreativitasnya. Kedepan, mudah-mudahan dapat meningkatkan sinergisitas dengan Perangkat Desa,”ujarnya.
