Semarang, April 6, 2026 – Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), through its Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), continues to show its strong commitment to improving the quality and global competitiveness of its research. One of these efforts is reflected in the Mentoring Workshop on International Grant Proposal Writing, which was held online via Zoom Meeting on Monday (April 6, 2026).This activity is part of a preparation series leading up to the international grant proposal workshop organized by Risbang Dikti. Through this mentoring session, UNNES lecturers and researchers were equipped with strategic insights into international funding opportunities, techniques for writing competitive proposals, and practical approaches to improving the quality of their research submissions.
The event was officially opened by the Secretary of LPPM UNNES, Prof. Dr. Sucihatininingsih Dian Wisika Prajanti, M.Si., who emphasized that strengthening academic capacity is a key step in boosting research productivity and community service. She also highlighted that readiness to access international funding will further strengthen UNNES’s position as a globally reputable university.
The session featured Zulfa Sakhiyya, Ph.D., as the keynote speaker, who delivered the material in a comprehensive and practical way. In her presentation, she stressed the importance of aligning research topics with novelty and potential impact to ensure proposals are competitive at the international level. Participants were also guided to understand proposal evaluation criteria and strategies for tailoring proposals to specific grant schemes.In addition to improving the quality of grant proposals, LPPM UNNES also promotes a collaborative, innovative, and sustainable research ecosystem. Strengthening lecturers’ competencies is expected to contribute to knowledge development and solutions to societal challenges. In line with UNNES’s vision, this initiative also supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly quality education (SDG 4) and global partnerships (SDG 17), through enhanced academic capacity, international networking, and impactful research.(R)
