To commemorate National Nature Conservation Day (HKAN) 2025, the Central Java Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) successfully held a conservation campaign with the theme “Building Synergy between Generations for the Future: Youth for Conservation, Beyond Expectations.” This event aimed to raise awareness of the importance of nature conservation among the public, especially the younger generation.
The lively event, held at the Simpang Lima Car Free Day area in Semarang, attracted thousands of visitors. The Central Java BKSDA collaborated with various parties, including Conservation Cadres, the Green Youth Movement, and several other partners, to ensure the event’s success. Students from Semarang State University (UNNES), who are also Conservation Cadres, participated in this activity, including:
- Rheza Rizky Al Fath’Qi (Environmental Science)
- Muhammad Reza Daffauzan Sarwono (Environmental Science)
- Akhmad Syuhada (Social Studies)
- Siti Noor Aida Aisiyah (Sports Science)
- Sindi Handayani (Computer Science)
One of the highlights of this campaign was the distribution of 300 free plant seedlings to the community. This initiative went beyond simply distributing seedlings, but also provided hands-on education on how to plant and care for trees. Through this activity, the Central Java Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) strives to instill a collective awareness that every individual plays a vital role in preserving the environment.
In addition to distributing seedlings, the community was also enthusiastic about seeing the various animals on display, such as several species of snakes, macaws, and iguanas. The presence of these animals is a unique attraction, especially for children, and also serves as an educational tool about biodiversity and the importance of wildlife protection.
The Head of the Central Java Natural Resources Conservation Agency (Balai KSDA) stated, “This campaign is a concrete manifestation of our commitment to educating the public, especially the younger generation, to care more about conservation. Collaboration with various parties, including students, is crucial to creating synergy between generations for a better future for nature.”
This activity is expected to be the first step in a sustainable effort to inspire more people, especially the younger generation, to actively participate in nature and environmental conservation efforts.
