Three students from the 2021 History Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) were selected as one of the 25 finalist teams for the 2023 CIFest (Campus Integrity Festival), which was organized by the Corruption Eradication Commission.
With the help of their mentor Dr. Muzakki Bashori, SP.d., M.A., the team of Qonita Fadhila, Inez Kalyana Azmi, and Mutiara Gita Cahyani was able to get funds totaling $10 million for the creation of the straightforward game Eradika: The Integrity Chronicles.
The term eradicate is the source of the name Eradika. It is hoped that by using this game, student users’ integrity and anti-corruption principles will rise. By taking part in initiatives to combat corruption, students will be able to act as agents of change for the country and have a beneficial influence.
From July to October 2023, the Eradika team will begin research and development for this game.
The Corruption Eradication Commission provided the team with direct direction and oversight. The team then started having additional internal conversations, creating the game concept, creating the game, dispersing needs analysis questionnaires, and putting the game into use with first- and third-semester students from the Education and History Study Program.
The team then sent the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) to students, solicited reviews of the Eradika game from three experts (two lecturers and one judge), produced infographics, and created activity videos.
Both students and professionals in general gave the Eradika game positive reviews. The Eradika game implementation efforts were met with apparent enthusiasm from the students. The future development of this game will benefit from recommendations and constructive criticism, of course.
Four students will be chosen at random from those who participate the most in the game and appointed as Department of Anti-Corruption Ambassadors as part of the follow-up.
“We hope that through the Eradika game and this anti-corruption ambassador, the values of integrity and anti-corruption spirit will become more widespread in the campus environment and become sustainable good practices and culture,” said Muzakki Bashori, the supervisor.
