The Wonokerso Village Folk Festival, held at Wonokerso Field on Sunday (November 16th), successfully presented a series of MSME bazaar activities and local traditional arts performances. The event featured the “Wahyu Putro Singo Truno” horse dance from Kejiwan Hamlet, Wonokerso Village, Limpung District, Batang Regency, as well as dance and pantomime performances by students from Wonokerso 1 and 2 Elementary Schools.
The event was held in collaboration with the Wonokerso Village Government and the GIAT13 Community Service Program (KKN) Team from Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), Wonokerso Village, and received active support from the youth of the Wijaya Kusuma Youth Organization (Karang Taruna).
The 30 MSME bazaar booths provided by the committee were fully booked from the initial announcement. Those MSMEs who did not secure a prime booth were placed in the back area of the field. The high level of participant interest demonstrated great enthusiasm, especially as this was the first bazaar held in Wonokerso Village and provided an opportunity to promote local products.
The Wonokerso Village logo, designed by the UNNES GIAT13 Community Service Team, was also unveiled on the occasion. It is hoped that this logo will be approved as the official village logo by the Wonokerso Village Government in Limpung District, Batang Regency.
“Hopefully, this village logo, the work we created, can be designated as the official logo,” said Arif, a member of the UNNES GIAT13 Community Service Team.
The Head of Wonokerso Village, Muhamidin, SE, in his remarks expressed his appreciation for the UNNES GIAT13 Community Service Team’s contribution.
“Thank you, UNNES GIAT13 Community Service Team, for the inauguration of the Wonokerso Village logo,” he said.
After the opening ceremony, the event continued with an artistic performance by students from Wonokerso 1 and 2 Elementary Schools. At 1:00 PM WIB, the “Wahyu Putro Singo Truno” horse dance performance continued despite the pouring rain. Residents enthusiastically watched, bringing umbrellas and raincoats, demonstrating the community’s strong enthusiasm for traditional arts.
This festival is held to strengthen the promotion of local culture while supporting the local economy, with lively community participation from morning to evening.
