Semarang, February 23, 2025 – Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) held an environmental campaign to commemorate National Waste Awareness Day (HPSN) 2025. This activity took place in the Simpang Lima Semarang Car Free Day (CFD) area on Sunday (23/2), in collaboration with the Semarang City Environmental Service (DLH) and UNNES Green Techno Park.

This campaign action carries the theme “Collaboration for a Clean Indonesia” with the aim of increasing public awareness of the importance of responsible waste management. This activity involves students, environmental care communities, and the general public.
In the campaign, participants carried out campaign actions along the CFD area with orators Dr. Ir. Ananto Aji, M.S., education on waste sorting, and introduction of environmentally friendly technological innovations developed by UNNES and Green Techno Park UNNES.

Head of UNNES Conservation Sub-Directorate, Prof. Dr. Nana Kariada Tri Martuti, M.Sc., said that this campaign is part of UNNES’ commitment to supporting sustainable environmental movements. “We want to invite the public to care more about waste management. With real actions like this, we can together maintain environmental cleanliness and sustainability,” she said.
Head of Semarang City Environmental Agency, Mrs. Arwita Mawarti, S.T., M.T., also appreciated this collaboration and hoped that similar activities could continue to be carried out sustainably. “Public awareness of waste management must continue to be increased. With a campaign like this, we can educate more people about the importance of sorting and processing waste properly,” she said.

This environmental campaign is expected to have a positive impact on the people of Semarang, as well as being an inspiration for other cities in their efforts to maintain cleanliness and environmental sustainability. With the spirit of collaboration, UNNES continues to strive to create innovative solutions to face the challenges of waste management in the future.
