Students from the Community Service Program (KKN) of Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) in the GIAT 12 group of the Public Health (SKM) Undergraduate Program held the AYOM PANGAN (Women Agents of Pancasila: Strengthening Family Food Security) program with the “Mugi Lestari” Women Farmers Group (KWT) in Grobogan Village. The activity, held on August 5-6, 2025, on Jalan Pucang, RW 03, aimed to strengthen women’s role in managing local food resources to support family food security.
On the first day, participants received education on the concept of family food security, the strategic role of women in utilizing local resources, and the potential of Grobogan’s unique food ingredients such as corn, soybeans, and cassava. To assess participant knowledge, the committee conducted pre- and post-tests. The assessment results indicated an increased understanding of the importance of family food security.
The second day focused on demonstrations of local food processing through training on making JAGGIE (Corn Nuggie), a corn-based nugget that is easy to make at home. Participants received leaflets containing recipes, preparation instructions, and nutritional information. They also had the opportunity to sample the products.
The participants’ enthusiasm was palpable. Mulyati, a member of the “Mugi Lestari” (Mugi Lestari Women’s Group), shared her positive impressions.
“I feel very helped by this activity. In addition to increasing my knowledge about family food, I also gained new skills for processing food at home. It could even become a small business opportunity for us,” she said.
This activity also received support from the Head of Grobogan Village, the Head of the Family Welfare Movement (PKK), and the Head of Working Group 3, who attended the second day’s session. Their presence strengthened collaboration in efforts to empower women through food education.
By utilizing local potential with simple innovations, such as processing corn into nuggets, the AYOM PANGAN program is expected to improve family food security while opening up economic opportunities for households. Furthermore, this activity, initiated by UNNES Community Service Program (KKN) students participating in GIAT 12 SKM, is expected to inspire other regions to mobilize women as the frontline of family food security.
The 12 SKM 2025 Activity Team of Grobogan Village would like to thank the Center for Real Work Lecture Development of LPPM UNNES, Grobogan Village, and the “Mugi Lestari” Women Farmers Group who continue to provide support and direction so that the AYOM PANGAN program as Strengthening Family Food Security in Grobogan Village can be implemented well.
