In support of environmental preservation, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), in collaboration with the Djarum Foundation Environmental Service, held a planting activity of 3,500 tree seedlings on Saturday and Sunday (November 25–26) in the Sendang Nyai Ketrik area and the Gunung Ledek area, Gunungpati, Kota Semarang. This activity is part of a joint effort to bring about real change in preserving and sustaining the environment. As well as a form of action to commemorate Indonesian Tree Planting Day, which is celebrated every November 28.
The activity with the title SIAPDARLING (Siap Sadar Lingkungan) and ‘Go Green To Make Our Planet Clean’ is a concrete step to raise awareness of our responsibility in fighting the natural crisis and encourage movement towards a more prosperous and sustainable future.
UNNES Chancellor Prof. Dr. S. Martono, M.Si., conveyed the importance of the role of each individual in preserving the environment.
“Through the #SatuLangkahNyata movement, we want to invite all parties to contribute to maintaining the sustainability of nature. “This planting activity is not just a symbol but also a real action that can have a positive impact on the environment,” said the professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business.
Djarum Foundation Environmental Service supports UNNES in the form of providing 3500 tree seeds complete with manure. In his speech, FX Supanji, as Vice President and Director of the Djarum Foundation, also emphasized the importance of cultivating a sense of love and concern for the environment.
As many as 3,500 new UNNES students were involved in tree-planting activities. The SIAPDARLING #SatuLangkahReta program is expected to provide long-term benefits for the environment and society, as well as being an inspiration for universities and other institutions to participate in preserving nature. With sustainable forests, people can use them as sustainable natural resources, such as wood and fruit. UNNES and the Djarum Foundation Environmental Service are committed to continuing to carry out programs like this so that they can provide a sustainable positive impact.
Me, you, and our earth. We have planted, when are you?
