Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), through its Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) Business Unit Incubator, has established a partnership with UD Impact Korea for the Indonesian Environmental & Energy Young Entrepreneur Project.
The signing of this agreement took place in Jakarta on Wednesday (September 17, 2025). The program focuses on developing student startups in the energy and environmental sectors, utilizing artificial intelligence (AI)-based technology.
The Head of the UNNES LPPM Business Unit Incubator, Prof. Isti Hidayah, viewed this collaboration as a strategic step to strengthen UNNES’s role in fostering young entrepreneurs on campus.
“The incubator not only plays a role in fostering, but also in identifying potential startups, providing mentoring, and facilitating pitching at the national and international levels,” she said.
Support also came from the President Director of SK Innovation E&S Indonesia, Dong Kun Shon, who emphasized the importance of cross-border collaboration in building a green entrepreneurship ecosystem.
“Through this partnership, we want to support the strengthening of the student startup ecosystem in Indonesia, particularly in the environmental and energy sectors,” he said.
This collaboration aligns with UNNES’s commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in clean energy, industrial innovation, and climate action. This program is expected to foster a generation of innovative and globally competitive young entrepreneurs.
Furthermore, this collaboration also serves as a crucial momentum in strengthening Indonesia-Korea relations, particularly in the areas of education, innovation, and sustainable entrepreneurship. Through this initiative, UNNES affirms its commitment as a conservation-minded university that actively supports the growth of an environment- and energy-based student startup ecosystem.
