Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) held a series of lively activities in the framework of its 60th Anniversary. This celebration carries the spirit of cultural preservation, strengthening spirituality, and educational innovation as a real contribution towards Golden Indonesia 2045.
The series of Anniversary began on Thursday, February 20, 2025 through the Opening Ceremony at Prof. Dirham Field, Faculty of Sport Science. This event was enlivened by the UNNES Paramotor Show, healthy walk, bazaar and expo, student carnival from all faculties, and flash mob gymnastics with the theme “UNNES MAJU” which involved thousands of academicians and the community.
As a form of respect for the founding figures, UNNES held an opening pilgrimage on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. The activity began with a visit to the grave of the late Mr. Mochtar at the Bergota Cemetery, Semarang City. He was a presidium figure who contributed to the history of UNNES’ development.
In the field of sports, UNNES held various competitions starting on April 16, 2025. The sports competed in included volleyball, tonis, table tennis, e-sports, badminton, SSB soccer, petanque, tennis, and the National Wushu Championship. This series was closed with a healthy bike ride on May 31, 2025 as an invitation to a healthy lifestyle.
Meanwhile, art appreciation was displayed through dance and vocal competitions participated by lecturers and education personnel from all faculties and the Postgraduate School.
In a religious nuance, UNNES Bersholawat 2025 was held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Prof. Dumadi Field. The event presented Habib Umar Al-Mutohar and Habib Ali Zainal Abidin Assegaf as well as the Az-Zahir Sholawat Assembly. In addition, Khataman Al-Qur’an was also held simultaneously in nine faculties and the Postgraduate School.
The Sinden Idol UNNES #5 talent search event was held as an effort to preserve traditional arts. Auditions were held in various cities such as Rembang, Surabaya, Banyumas, Ponorogo, Sragen, and Yogyakarta as well as online for participants from outside the region. The Grand Final on May 31, 2025 determined Entin Solichah from Yogyakarta as the first winner.
The Children’s Dolanan Festival also enlivened the Dies Natalis and was held on June 3, 2025. Taking place at the Prof. Soegijono Laboratory, Faculty of Sports Science, this activity involved elementary school students through stilt games, gobak sodor, clogs, block running, and plinthengan.
Cultural activities were also presented through a shadow puppet performance on June 8, 2025. The play was entitled Satriya Sumbaga Wirotama and was staged with the spirit of preserving local values. This performance received high enthusiasm from the academic community and the general public.
The peak of the 60th Anniversary will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at the Prof. Wuryanto Auditorium. UNNES awarded the Upakarti Dharmakarya Adhikarana award to Prof. Dr. Abdul Mu’ti, M.Ed. and the Upakarti Kridha Adhikarana award to Taufik Hidayat as two figures who have contributed to the field of national education and sports.
Through this series of 60th Anniversary, UNNES affirms its commitment to preserving culture, strengthening spiritual values, encouraging innovation, and building character education towards Indonesia Emas 2045.
