Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) has successfully held the national level UNNES Green School Ranking (UGSR) activity in 2021-2023. The program which was launched on June 5 2021 by the Chancellor of UNNES is aimed at junior high schools and senior high schools throughout Indonesia. In order to welcome the implementation of UGSR 2024, the Conservation Sub-Directorate as the technical manager of UGSR 2024 held Workshop I with the theme Site and Infrastructure on Monday 10 June 2024 which was attended by developers of green schools at junior and senior high school levels from 7 regions throughout Indonesia (Central Java, East Java, West Java, Jakarta, Banten, East Kalimantan and Bali).
This workshop aims to provide information and at the same time a strategy for filling out the indicator form in UGSR 2024 within the scope of site & infrastructure criteria. As resource persons in the Workshop were Teguh Prihanto, ST, MT (Head of Natural Resources and Environment, UNNES Conservation Sub-Directorate) and Dr. Ardiyan Adhi Wibowo, ST, MT (UNNES Architecture Lecturer).
The Site & Infrastructure theme discusses 14 indicators, namely: (1) Ratio of open area to total school area; (2) The dominant type of outdoor pavement; (3) Percentage of rooms with full natural ventilation; (4) Percentage of rooms with fan ventilation; (5) Percentage of rooms with AC; (6) Percentage of spaces with natural light (for example: glass windows, glass blocks, glass tiles); (7) Percentage of rooms with artificial lighting; (8) Percentage of space with indoor plants; (9) Types of vegetation diversity; (10) Tree inventory; (11) Existence of gardens/school land; (12) School superior products produced in terms of biodiversity: (13) Regulations regarding environmental management; and (14) Campaigns about the environment and biodiversity.
