The Coastal Literature Jamboree Festival was successfully held at SMA Negeri 14 Semarang (02/09) by a number of UNNES students who are members of the PKM-PM UNNES team. Following four weeks of training and educational programs in coastal literature, hundreds of students from SMA Negeri 14 Semarang took part in this festival. This activity is intended to promote cultural literacy among students at SMA Negeri 14 Semarang.
The Poetry Writing Arena, Short Story Writing Arena, Poetry Reading Arena, and Storytelling Arena are the four competition branches that make up the SMA Negeri 14 Semarang students’ Coastal Literature Jamboree Festival.
“After taking part in training and education in coastal literature, today is the day we have all been waiting for. “We hope that this festival can inspire friends’ enthusiasm for learning about coastal culture through literature,” said Leo Fernando, chairman of the UNNES PKM-PM TEAM.
According to Deputy Principal Dwi Jumiyanto, “The implementation of the Coastal Literature Jamboree Festival is a new breakthrough for students at SMA Negeri 14 Semarang in preserving coastal culture.” Additionally, the PKM-PM UNNES team has offered coastal literature training, which can be used as a springboard for an excellent and enthusiastic performance at the festival.
In addition, PM UNNES TIM-PKM invited judges with expertise in poetry writing (Agniya and Desiya Nailil Muna, S.Pd), short story writing (Iis Aisyah, S.Pd), poetry reading (Siraj Lintang Wicaksono and Mely Wulandari), and storytelling (Rezkyma Syalfa Noor Hafiedz and Fitriani Kusuma Hartanti) to select three winners in each category. Andara Deby Prameswari took first prize, Noni Aliffah came in second, and Naffisa Nufi Choirina came in third as the champions in the poetry writing category.
Writing short stories genre Muhammad Rafid Rafii came in third, Dini Winarti took second, and Chayla Nafii Arayya took first. Jemema Dequeisha Prasetio took first place, followed by Nadya Shafwah Kartika in second, and Anggita Zahra Sevilla in third, in the storytelling competition. Nafisyah Aura Febriani, Berliana Ramadani, and Winda Candra Dewi were the top three finishers in the poetry reading competition.
The PKM-PM UNNES Team gave prizes to the winners in each category as a token of appreciation. Along with prizes for the winners, the Coastal Literature Jamboree Festival will publish videos on social media and anthologize all the participants’ written contributions in a book with an ISBN. The attendees of the Coastal Literature Jamboree Festival had smiles radiating from their faces.
To be able to participate in this festival is fantastic, sis. We are all capable of writing poetry. Noni Aliffah, a competitor in the poetry writing division, remarked, “We can also learn about what coastal culture is.”
