Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), as a Conservation-Oriented Campus, has once again become an international reference. This time, a delegation from Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST), Philippines, conducted a comparative study visit to explore the implementation of conservation values across various aspects of the UNNES campus on Monday, October 6, 2025.
The visit, which focused on the pillars of environmental conservation, arts, and culture, was warmly welcomed by UNNES. The NEUST delegation was accompanied by Teguh Prihanto, S.T., M.T., Head of the Environmental Facilities and Natural Resources (SDAL) Section of the Conservation Sub-Directorate, and several lecturers from the UNNES Faculty of Engineering (FT).
As part of their study agenda, the NEUST delegation visited several key locations that symbolize UNNES’s commitment to conservation: the Innovation House, the Art and Culture House, the Integrated Waste Processing Facility (TPST), and the UNNES Ecofarm.
Teguh Prihanto, S.T., M.T. explained that this visit was a follow-up to the existing international collaboration between UNNES and NEUST.
“We welcome NEUST’s interest in learning from UNNES’s conservation practices. We hope this comparative study will provide inspiration and new insights for NEUST in developing conservation programs on their campus. This is also an opportunity for us to exchange ideas and strengthen UNNES’s commitment to realizing its vision as an internationally renowned conservation-minded university,” said Teguh Prihanto.
The NEUST delegation expressed their admiration for UNNES’s consistency in integrating conservation into all aspects of campus life, including the physical environment, cultural values, and innovation development.
This comparative study is expected to open opportunities for broader collaboration between the two universities, including joint research, faculty and student exchanges, and global scientific publications focused on sustainability issues.
