Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) through the Conservation Sub-Directorate has submitted the UI Greenmetric 2024 questionnaire as a form of active participation in the world-class green campus ranking, Thursday (10/31/2024) at the Rector’s Meeting Room. UI Greenmetric World University Ranking is a global platform that measures campus sustainability based on policies and programs that support environmental conservation. With routine participation since 2010, this year UNNES is again committed to strengthening its position in the event attended by thousands of campuses from various countries.
In the UI Greenmetric 2023 national ranking, UNNES won 5th place out of 145 universities in Indonesia and was ranked 37th out of 1,183 campuses in the world. This achievement shows UNNES’ consistency in improving sustainable conservation programs. This year, the completion of the UI Greenmetric questionnaire is again based on the aspects of Environment, Economy, and Justice, with the weight of the indicators that have been adjusted so that the filling of the instrument remains objective.
Head of Natural Resources and Environment Section of UNNES Conservation Sub-Directorate Teguh Prihanto, S.T., M.T., said that this achievement was the result of the continuous efforts of the entire UNNES academic community in implementing conservation programs.

Meanwhile, Head of Conservation Sub-Directorate Prof. Dr. Amin Retnoningsih, M.Si. hopes that the questionnaire that has been prepared based on the Environment, Economy, and Justice indicators can further demonstrate UNNES’ innovation in managing campus sustainability.
“We hope that this step will further strengthen UNNES’ position as an environmentally aware campus, which not only competes but also has an impact on the surrounding environment and sets an example for other campuses,” he hoped.
The delivery of the UI Greenmetric 2024 questionnaire was also attended by Prof. Dr. Zaenuri, M.Si., Akt., Vice Rector I for Academic & Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Nur Qudus, M.T., IPM., Vice Rector IV for Cooperation, Business, & International Relations. With this, UNNES can maintain and even improve its ranking and become a pioneer in green campus initiatives at the national and global levels.
With high optimism, UNNES continues to strengthen its commitment to becoming an inspiring and innovative sustainable campus, providing positive impacts not only in the academic sphere but also for society and the environment.
