Semarang, February 28, 2025 – A total of 900 new students of Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) from seven faculties participated in a tree planting activity in the UNNES Sekaran campus environment. This program took place in three main locations, namely the West Campus, East Campus, and Rusunawa Putri Baru, as part of campus conservation and greening efforts.
In this activity, students from the Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS), Faculty of Education and Psychology (FIPP), Faculty of Sports Science (FIK), Faculty of Engineering (FT), Faculty of Law (FH), Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), and Faculty of Medicine (FK) planted 300 superior tree seedlings. This program was held in collaboration between UNNES and the Djarum Foundation Bakti Lingkungan.

The tree planting event was officially opened by the Head of the UNNES Conservation Sub-Directorate, Prof. Dr. Nana Kariada Tri Martuti, M.Sc., who emphasized the importance of environmental conservation as part of UNNES’ identity as a conservation-oriented campus. In addition, the Director of Academic, Student Affairs, and Conservation of UNNES, Mr. Mulyo Widodo, S.Pd., M.M., also attended the event and symbolically handed over plant seeds to two student representatives from the Faculty of Law (FH) and the Faculty of Education and Psychology (FIPP).
“This activity is a real step by students in supporting environmental conservation efforts while instilling conservation values from an early age,” said Prof. Nana Kariada Tri Martuti in her speech.

This tree planting program not only aims to green the campus environment, but also as a form of student concern for the sustainability of the ecosystem. It is hoped that the trees planted will provide long-term benefits, both in terms of the environment and the aesthetics of the UNNES campus.
With this program, UNNES continues to be committed to creating a green and beautiful campus environment and encouraging students to be active in conservation activities. Similar activities are planned to continue in the future as part of the campus greening movement.
