Semarang – In an effort to increase the utilization of green land and support the concept of a conservation campus, the Conservation Sub-Directorate of Semarang State University (UNNES) together with several student organizations held a land optimization activity in the UNNES Ecofarm garden complex on Saturday, February 15, 2025.
This activity includes various activities, such as arranging plant seedlings, clearing land, and optimizing empty land that will be developed as integrated educational tourism. This educational tourism is expected to be a means of environmental education for students and the general public, while strengthening UNNES’ role as a conservation-oriented campus.

Head of the UNNES Conservation Sub-Directorate, Prof. Dr. Nana Kariada Tri Martuti, M.Sc., said that the optimization of this land is part of UNNES’s grand strategy in managing a greener and more productive campus environment. “We want to make UNNES Ecofarm not only a green area, but also an interesting and beneficial environmental learning center for the community,” he said.
Students who are members of student organizations also actively participated in this activity. They played a role in arranging plant seedlings, cleaning the garden area from weeds and organic waste, and preparing the land for various types of plants that will be planted as part of the educational tourism program.

One of the student participants, Endang Pratiwi from UKM Mahapala UNNES, said that the involvement of students in this program provided a very valuable experience. “We learned directly how to manage land optimally, while also understanding the importance of preserving the environment around the campus,” she said.
With this activity, UNNES hopes that UNNES Ecofarm can develop into an educational tourism destination that not only offers natural beauty, but also provides educational and ecological benefits. Similar activities are planned to continue to be carried out to ensure the sustainability and improvement of the quality of conservation land in the campus environment.
