Related to SDGs

On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, SMP Negeri 2 Pejawaran conducted an educational visit to the Conservation Sub-directorate at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES). The activity aimed to study environmental preservation efforts under the theme “Conservation Study Trip Seroja Goes to UNNES.”
The group from SMP Negeri 2 Pejawaran was welcomed directly by Prof. Dr. Nana Kariada Tri Martuti, M.Si., Head of the UNNES Conservation Sub-directorate. In her welcome speech, she explained the importance of the younger generation’s role in maintaining environmental sustainability and introduced UNNES as a conservation-oriented campus committed to sustainable development.
After the welcoming session, the activities continued with a campus tour using an electric shuttle bus—an example of environmentally friendly transportation used at the campus. During the tour, participants visited several key facilities, including the House of Innovation, House of Arts and Culture, House of Education, STEM center, and the UNNES Ecofarm.
Through this visit, teachers gained hands-on learning experiences about conservation practices, environmental management, educational innovation, and the use of sustainable technology and agriculture. The program was designed to serve as a model that could be applied back at their school.
The educational visit of SMP Negeri 2 Pejawaran to Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) is also aligned with the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The conservation learning program participated in by teachers and students supports SDG 4 on Quality Education through the implementation of contextual learning that provides direct experience in environmental management and educational innovation. In addition, the introduction of environmentally friendly practices on campus, such as the use of electric transportation and the management of green campus areas, is in line with SDG 13 on Climate Action by fostering early awareness among the younger generation of the importance of climate change mitigation efforts. Furthermore, visits to the UNNES Ecofarm and other conservation facilities strengthen support for SDG 15 on Life on Land, as participants gain firsthand understanding of biodiversity conservation, sustainable natural resource management, and sustainable agriculture that can be applied within the school environment.
