Subdirektorat Konservasi Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) menyelenggarakan kampanye lingkungan dalam rangka memperingati Hari Konservasi Alam Nasional (HKAN) 2026 di kawasan Car Free Day (CFD) Simpang Lima, Kota Semarang, pada Minggu, 9 Agustus 2026. Kegiatan ini menjadi bagian dari upaya UNNES dalam mengajak masyarakat untuk lebih peduli terhadap ketahanan pangan dan pelestarian lingkungan melalui aksi sederhana yang dapat dilakukan dari rumah.

Dalam kegiatan tersebut, UNNES membagikan sebanyak 500 bibit sayuran kepada masyarakat. Bibit yang dibagikan merupakan hasil pengembangan UNNES Ecofarm dan Subdirektorat Konservasi sebagai bentuk dukungan terhadap gerakan pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pangan keluarga secara mandiri dan berkelanjutan.

Selain pembagian bibit, tim konservasi UNNES juga melaksanakan kampanye edukatif mengenai pentingnya konservasi lingkungan, pengelolaan ruang hijau, serta pemanfaatan tanaman produktif di lingkungan rumah. Antusiasme masyarakat terlihat tinggi sepanjang kegiatan berlangsung. Ratusan bibit sayuran yang disediakan habis dibagikan hanya dalam waktu singkat.

Orasi kampanye disampaikan oleh Dr. Ir. Ananto Aji, M.S., selaku Kepala Seksi Nilai, Karakter, Seni, dan Budaya Subdirektorat Konservasi UNNES. Dalam penyampaiannya, ia mengajak masyarakat untuk menjadikan konservasi sebagai bagian dari gaya hidup sehari-hari.

“Konservasi tidak selalu dimulai dari langkah besar. Menanam sayuran di pekarangan rumah merupakan bentuk konservasi yang sederhana, tetapi memiliki manfaat besar bagi lingkungan dan ketahanan pangan keluarga. Kami ingin mengajak masyarakat untuk memulai dari hal-hal kecil yang dapat dilakukan secara berkelanjutan,” ujar Dr. Ananto Aji.

Menurutnya, pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan tidak hanya memberikan manfaat ekonomi, tetapi juga membantu menciptakan lingkungan yang lebih hijau dan sehat. “Ketika masyarakat mulai menanam dan memanfaatkan ruang yang tersedia di sekitar rumah, mereka tidak hanya memenuhi kebutuhan pangan keluarga, tetapi juga berkontribusi terhadap pembangunan lingkungan yang lebih berkelanjutan,” tambahnya.

Melalui kegiatan ini, UNNES kembali menegaskan komitmennya sebagai kampus konservasi yang aktif membangun kesadaran masyarakat terhadap isu lingkungan. Kampanye HKAN 2026 diharapkan mampu mendorong lahirnya gerakan kolektif dalam menjaga lingkungan sekaligus memperkuat ketahanan pangan masyarakat perkotaan.

Kegiatan ini mendukung Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), khususnya SDG 2 tentang Tanpa Kelaparan, SDG 11 tentang Kota dan Komunitas Berkelanjutan, serta SDG 15 tentang Menjaga Ekosistem Daratan.
