Hundreds of trees are planted in Sekaran by New FMIPA UNNES Students

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) carried out tree planting activities on Friday (8/12) yesterday.

A total of 480 new students, along with lecturers and staff, planted trees at the Tanah Bangkok RT 01 and RT 02 Bangkong, Sekaran, and Gunungpati locations.

This activity is part of FMIPA UNNES’ efforts to participate in maintaining environmental sustainability. The trees planted were 150 fruit seedlings and 350 woody tree seedlings. Apart from that, this activity is also supervised directly by the Conservation Sub-Directorate, so that all planting procedures comply with regulations.

In his speech, the Dean of FMIPA UNNES, Prof. Dr. Edy Cahyono, M.Si., said that this tree planting activity was a form of FMIPA UNNES’ commitment to maintaining environmental sustainability. He also invited all new students to continue to pay attention to the surrounding environment and participate in nature conservation efforts.

With the enthusiasm and concern shown by new students, it is hoped that they can become an example for other communities to participate in environmental conservation efforts. Let’s all work together to protect the environment for a better future.
