In an effort to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by 193 UN member countries, the Semarang State University (UNNES) community service team held a socialization activity for the preparation of village development planning based on Village SDGs for the apparatus and community of Gadu Village, Sambong District, Blora Regency, Friday (20/09/2024). The activity, which took place in the meeting room of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UNNES, aimed to strengthen the understanding of the community and village apparatus regarding the importance of inclusive and sustainable development planning.
Village SDGs is an important initiative that aims to create villages that are able to face future challenges by utilizing local potential. This is in line with Permendesa Number 21 of 2020, which regulates the procedures for village development based on SDGs. In this context, UNNES is committed to contributing directly to empowering village communities through a better understanding of development planning.
This socialization activity is an initiative program from the head of the community service, Moh. Aris Munandar, S.Sos., M.M. and consists of Prof. Dr. Ngabiyanto, M.Sc., Dr. sos. Puji Lestari, M.Sc., Prof. Dr. Suyahmo M.Sc., Yozi Aulia Rahman, S.E., M.Sc., and Ahmad Syahrul Fauzi, S.E., M.Sc. In the presentation session, the UNNES community service team explained the importance of the Village Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJM Desa) and how village funds can be used effectively to achieve the SDGs goals.
“The direct involvement of academics from universities to solve various problems in the community is needed so that we can implement the theories learned to provide solutions for development, especially in rural areas,” said Moh. Aris Munandar, S.Sos., M.M.
After the presentation, the activity continued with a discussion session. The community and village officials had a direct dialogue with the UNNES team, discussing the technical implementation and suitability of the development program in Gadu Village with the Village SDGs. This discussion formulated a collaboration between academics and the community in preparing a development plan that is in accordance with local needs and potential.
As a follow-up, the UNNES community service team plans to provide online and offline assistance, so that the Gadu Village community is increasingly prepared and able to prepare better development plans. This support is expected to encourage villages to transform to be more inclusive and sustainable, in line with the SDGs vision that has been initiated by the government.
Through this activity, UNNES not only plays a role as an educational institution, but also as a strategic partner in village development, encouraging communities to actively participate in creating a better future for their villages.
