Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) continues to strengthen its strategic role in connecting the worlds of education and industry through collaboration and cooperation. As a concrete step in expanding its network, UNNES visited the Djarum Foundation in Kudus Regency, Friday (15/12/2023).
Djarum Foundation is a foundation that has long been committed to supporting the development of five areas of activity, namely Educational Service, Social Service, Environmental Service, Cultural Service and Sports Service.
One of the areas of cooperation that has been carried out by UNNES and the Djarum Foundation is the environmental sector. UNNES and the Djarum Foundation have high concern for environmental conditions in Indonesia. This is proven by the planting of 3,500 tree seedlings around Sekaran Village, Gunungpati District, Semarang City.
Head of UNNES Conservation Sub-Directorate, Prof. Dr. Amin Retnoningsih M.Sc. said that this visit was a follow-up to the program to plant 3,500 tree seedlings last Saturday (25/11/2023).
“We are very enthusiastic about strengthening the collaboration between UNNES and the Djarum Foundation. “Through this collaboration, we hope to create innovative programs that not only enrich students’ learning experiences but also raise awareness of the importance of caring for the earth,” said Prof. Amen.
During the visit, the UNNES group was warmly welcomed by the Vice President Director of the Djarum Foundation, FX Supanji along with the leadership and team of the Djarum Foundation.
UNNES and the Djarum Foundation discussed various areas of cooperation that could be explored, such as collaborative tree seedling planting programs, involving students in relevant projects, as well as holding joint seminars and workshops.
It is hoped that the collaboration between UNNES and the Djarum Foundation will have a positive impact not only on both parties but also on the wider community.
Through the integration of education and industry in the environmental sector, UNNES strives to produce graduates who are competent and able to contribute to nature conservation.
